I met Munawar Ahmed in 2010 in Chelsea, New York through a mutual friend. From the moment we sat down and had our first conversation, I knew this was going to be something special for both of us.

In April 2014, Munawar commissioned a set of photos for her design studio, Bluprint. She had 12 people on staff and the Bluprint web site was undergoing a major re-design. We chose white brick in her Chelsea apartment as the backdrop for all staff photos, including her own.

In September 2018, the day before I had to fly out of New York, we did a photo shoot in DUMBO. Munawar had more "salt and pepper" so it was time to show off her grey and do a refreshed set of photos. She had also recently purchased a fabulous dress from Alice + Olivia that nearly jumped out of her closet and into our wardrobe bag.

In July 2021, Munawar came to visit me in Galicia. We spent a few wonderful days cooking in our humble kitchen in Ortiguera. It felt so perfect "living together" again. And I think for both of us, it felt like "Christmas in July". We drove from Ortiguera to Barcelona, made some interesting stops along the way, and then booked a room at the Pulitzer Hotel. On Sunday morning, the lobby and bar were quite quiet — and the perfect setting for a photo shoot.
