JOURNAL ON THE ROAD

Panzer, a road trip journal in photographs.

Panzer is a car. A 1979 Mercedes Model 450 SLC. In the process of researching it before the purchase, we discovered this model was named Das Panzerwagen. The Tank. For us it was just Panzer.

We came across it by chance north of San Francisco. It was love at first sight. Neither it nor we would have ever imagined how far we would go together.

We showered it with care and affection. Panzer took us from the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean, over borders, across deserts, to motel after motel, garages, camp sites, salvage yards, and supermarkets. It is the inspiration of this journal.

All photographs were taken during the trip, between November and December, 2013.
